
Martin van der Doelen is a researcher and back-end developer for Makara. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, with a specialization in hydrology and water management, both obtained at Delft University of Technology. In his current role, Martin focuses on researching and implementing methods to validate water savings using remote sensing. His work includes developing back-end algorithms to model water use throughout growing seasons, translating scientific approaches into robust, scalable software.
Growing up on a dairy farm in the Netherlands, Martin has a deep-rooted connection to farming and agriculture. This personal experience drives his commitment to helping farmers make data-driven decisions that not only conserve water but also improve productivity and resilience in the face of climate change.
