Soham Adla is a product manager and researcher with a focus on impact-oriented agricultural sustainability research, accumulating nine years of expertise. Holding a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, he graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and further pursued research at the Technical University of Munich, where he conducted award-winning doctoral research. Soham's work has involved developing practical frameworks for farm-level performance and implementing low-cost agricultural technologies, such as soil moisture sensors, crop growth and hydrological modeling, to improve resource efficiency in agriculture.
In his current role, he serves as a Researcher and Product Specialist, focusing on water-efficient agricultural sustainability in Maharashtra, India. His responsibilities include managing Makara for agri-accounting and promoting best practices, emphasizing water sustainability for cotton-growing farmers. He also studies behavioural approaches to understand the drivers and barriers related to agricultural technology adoption.
Soham's expertise lies in translating grassroots' issues into actionable solutions, utilizing stakeholder engagement, experiments, and behavioral science approaches to address technology adoption for climate-resilient agriculture. Having collaborated with industry and NGO partners, he brings practical experience and a bottom-up understanding of the complex intersections of human-water systems in agriculture.
